DESCRIPTION AND USE

Spectrus OX109 is a safe, easy-to-use source of bromine in liquid form. The bromine in this product is activated with chlorine or liquid bleach. In water, activated Spectrus OX109 forms hypobromous acid (HOBr) for control of microorganisms in high pH, once-through, or ammonia contaminated waters.

TREATMENT AND FEEDING REQUIREMENTS

Proper treatment levels and frequency of treatment depend on many factors and conditions particular to a given installation. These factors include the type of slime, pH, temperature, residence time, and other parameters.

Undiluted Spectrus OX109 should be mixed with chlorinator discharge water or liquid bleach using an in-line static mixer. The mixture should be injected into the tower basin or recirculating cooling water lines. For appropriate chemical feed ratios, consult your GE Betz representative.

Spectrus OX109 is a liquid blend available in a wide variety of customized containers and delivery methods. Contact your GE Betz representative for details.

STORAGE

Spectrus OX109 storage vessels should be corrosion resistant materials. Pumps should have corrosion resistant plastic heads. Feedlines and mixers should be of Schedule 80 PVC or Kynar (PVDF). Store at moderate temperatures and protect from freezing. If frozen, thaw completely and mix thoroughly prior to use.
