SoliSep MPT150 - Coagulant
SoliSep MPT150 is designed to improve significant-ly the efficiency of colloidal solids removal by multi-media filters. This formulation is a high molecular weight organic coagulant which is to be injected directly ahead of the multi-media filters.
SoliSep MPT150 offers the following features
- Certified for use in producing potable water. (Certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 60).
- Compatible with Hypersperse MDC150 and Hypersperse MDC 220antiscalant/antifoulants.
- Compatible with and proven not to foul thin film composite membranes.
- Optimum dosages are determined by GE Betz from a water sample.
- Increases resistance to filter breakthorugh.
- Minimizes backwash waste.
APPLICATION
SoliSep MPT150 must be added prior to the multi-media filters.

PRECAUTIONS
Incompatible antiscalants/antifoulants and coagulants may congeal and cause severe membrane fouling. SoliSep MPT150 should be used in conjunction with Hypersperse MDC150 and Hypersperse MDC 220. These products were specifically designed to be used in combination.
CHEMICAL FEED PUMP SETTING
Typical dosage range is between 2 and 10 ppm. A sample dosage calculation for general purposes would be as follows:
Example: SoliSep MPT150 dosage was determined to be 4 ppm. The customer wished to make a dilution of one gallon of SoliSep for every 49 gallons of water in his day tank. If the system feed flow is 500 gpm, at what rate must the chemical feed pump be set?
Qcf = Feed flow, gpm x ppm SoliSep MPT150 x 0.130 dilution
Qcf = Chemical feed pump rate, gpd
Dilution = Gallons SoliSep MPT150 x 100 Total gallons 49:1 (49 gallons water to 1 gallon SoliSep MPT150) For this example Qcf = 500 x 4 x 0.130/2 = 130 gpd
Important Note: Over and under -dosing may decrease filtration efficiency. To assist you, our tech-nical service engineers are available to provide custom dosages for your application.
