DESCRIPTION AND USE
ProSweet OC2520 is formulated to prevent the evolution of malodorous H2S and mercaptans from water and wastewater streams. ProSweet OC2520 contains natural enzymes and surfactants which prevent the biological generation of H2S.
ProSweet OC2520 is effective in controlling H2S and mercaptan generation resulting from anaerobic biological activity in water systems in the steel, food, paper, refining, and automotive industries.
TREATMENT AND FEEDING REQUIREMENTS
Proper treatment levels for ProSweet OC2520 depend on many factors, such as pH, temperature, stream flow rate, H2S concentration, and dissolved oxygen concentration. Assessment of these factors will aid the BetzDearborn representative in recommending treatment rates, control procedures, and specific application points.
For optimal performance, ProSweet OC2520 should be fed in a declining dosage rate schedule. Higher feedrates are recommended initially with decreasing rates following as the system begins to acclimate. Feedrates are often reduced until optimal maintenance dosages are established. For best treatment performance, BetzDearborn odor control programs should be evaluated by monitoring H2S levels in the air at various locations using an H2S monitoring device.
ProSweet OC2520 is compatible with stainless steel, EPDM, high-density cross-linked polyethylene, Viton, Teflon, Buna N, and neoprene. The product is not compatible with mild steel.
