Inhibitor OP8492

Inhibitor OP8492 is a synergistic blend of phosphonate and patented calcium phosphate inhibitor GE Betz HPS-I, designed to control corrosion and scale formation in open evaporative cooling systems. The blend is specifically designed to obtain optimum results with the minimal amount of total phosphate, under a given set of conditions.
Inhibitor OP8492
- Achieves optimum corrosion inhibition without heavy metals
- Eliminates or minimises acid feed
- Controls deposition and scale with patented GE Betz HPS-I copolymer
Description and Use
Inhibitor OP8492 is a synergistic blend of phosphonate and patented calcium phosphate inhibitor GE Betz HPS-I, designed to control corrosion and scale formation in open evaporative cooling systems. The blend is specifically designed to obtain optimum results with the minimal amount of total phosphate, under a given set of conditions.
Typical Applications
Inhibitor OP8492 effectively control common scales, such as calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate, and fouling due to iron and other suspended solids. Inhibitor OP8492 is versatile, and has been proved successful in a wide range of systems operating under varying conditions. The particular combination of active ingredients required to give the desired results depends on the system metallurgy, temperature, water chemistry and other system characteristics.
Treatment and Feeding Requirements
Dosage – the proper treatment level of Inhibitor OP8492 depends on the individual formulation and needs of your system. The product should be fed in accordance with control parameters that GE Betz establishes for the particular application. For consistent protection, continuous feed is recommended.
Feed point – Inhibitor OP8492 should be fed to a point in the cooling system where they can rapidly mix with the bulk cooling water.
Dilution – For best results, Inhibitor OP8492 should be fed neat. Dilutions, if necessary, are best made with low hardness water.
Feed Equipment – Tanks, pumps, piping valves should be made of mild steel, stainless steel, polyethylene or most common plastics.
