It is mainly used as an organic synthesis raw material and solvent in industry, for example, it can dissolve nitrocellulose, coatings, paints, etc.
Application of Cyclohexanone
Cyclohexanone is an important chemical raw material and a major intermediate for the production of nylon, caprolactam, and adipic acid. It is also an important industrial solvent, such as for paints, especially for those containing nitrocellulose, vinyl chloride polymers and their copolymers, or methacrylate polymer paints. An excellent solvent for organophosphate insecticides and many similar pesticides, used as a solvent for dyes, as a viscous solvent for piston type aviation lubricants, and as a solvent for grease, wax, and rubber. It is also used as a homogenizer for dyeing and fading silk, a degreaser for polishing metals, and for coloring and painting wood. Used as a high boiling solvent for nail polish and other cosmetics.
