DESCRIPTION AND USE

CorrShield MD401 is a molybdate-based corrosion inhibitor specially formulated for large chilled water and thermal storage closed systems. When applied according to GE Betz recommendations, this product can provide corrosion control results approaching the

results obtained by using chromate, but without chromate’s environmental hazards. This product has also been used in systems that can only tolerate low conductivity treatment chemistries.

TREATMENT AND FEEDING REQUIREMENTS

Typically the closed cooling water should be maintained at a high pH with this inhibitor. Proper treatment levels for CorrShield MD401 depend on several factors such as the corrosion potential and conditions particular to a given installation. The product should be used in accordance with control procedures that GE Betz establishes for a specific application.

STORAGE

Protect from freezing. If this product is frozen during shipment or storage, slight mixing may be required to ensure homogeneity.
