DESCRIPTION AND USE
Continuum AT201 is a specially formulated organ-ic/molybdate-based corrosion inhibitor. The low molybdate level developed by treatment with Continuum AT201 allows cooling systems to stay in compliance with local discharge regulations which may restrict the amount of molybdate that a municipal sludge contains.
Continuum AT201 complexes scale forming ions into soluble salts. The antinucleating and dispersing capa-bilities of the proprietary organic agents in this prod-uct extend the solubility range of calcium, phosphate and iron salts to prevent scale and other deposits. This allows cooling systems to be operated in highly buffered, alkaline environments, eliminating the need to feed hazardous acid for pH control.
Continuum AT201 protects many commonly used metals from corrosion by forming an inhibiting film on their surfaces.
While the corrosivity of water naturally decreases at alkaline conditions, it is still necessary to chemically treat for corrosion,especially in copper and copper-alloy systems.
TREATMENT AND FEEDING REQUIREMENTS
Proper treatment levels for Continuum AT201 depend on many factors, such as the corrosion and scaling potentials and conditions particular to a given installa-tion. The product should be used in accordance with control procedures that GE Betz establishes for a specific application.
Continuum AT201 is best fed neat (undiluted) from the storage tank or diluted with good quality water to any convenient strength.
Feed of the product is controlled by a simple and accurate molybdenum test.
Tanks, pumps, valves and associated piping should be made of Hastalloy, mild steel, stainless steel, poly-ethylene or most common plastics.

STORAGE
Protect from freezing. If this product is frozen during shipment or storage, slight mixing may be required to ensure homogeneity.
