What is the effect of sodium hexametaphosphate as a water treatment agent?
With the rapid increase in water consumption in countries around the world, various environmental laws (water purification laws) have been formulated one after another, and the requirements are becoming increasingly strict, so there is a rapid increase in the use of various efficient water treatment chemicals. Water treatment chemicals are essential chemical agents for industrial water, domestic water, and wastewater treatment processes. By using these chemicals, water can meet the necessary quality requirements. Sodium hexametaphosphate in phosphate is a common agent with good corrosion inhibition effect in water treatment.
The primary effect of water treatment agent is to control the composition of scale and sludge, reduce foam, reduce data erosion in contact with water, remove suspended solids and toxic substances in water, deodorize and decolorize, and soften water quality.

Previously, it was only used to overcome the phenomenon of “red water”, but gradually developed into many convenient applications such as circulating water treatment, food, mining, drilling, textile printing and dyeing, refractory materials, etc.
Sodium hexametaphosphate is also an important industrial raw material for water treatment, which is easily soluble in water. The aqueous solution is alkaline, with a pH of 9.7 in a 1% aqueous solution, indicating good ability to chelate metal ions. It can complex with metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, and iron to form soluble complexes. It gradually hydrolyzes into phosphates in water, but the operating conditions in the circulating water system are relatively harsh, and single phosphate treatment often cannot meet the requirements. Currently, two or more agents with corrosion and scale inhibition effects are often used in combination.
